Stepping Into Your Light in 2026
by Kristie Callahan

Happy New Year, beautiful souls! ✨
As we step into 2026, there seems to be something magical in the air in those first few weeks of a new year. Many of us are feeling the pull of new beginnings, the new fresh energy, new intentions, and the possibility to leave behind what no longer serves. It’s as though the universe opened a blank page just for you, inviting you to rewrite what comes next. As for many of us, 2025 sure brought us some lessons, surprises, and plot twists, didn’t it? Some of them were delightful, some of them challenging, and some of them made us wonder if the Universe was just having a laugh at our expense. But as the wheel continues to spin we turn the corner into 2026, are given an opportunity to take a deep breath, shake off the old energy, and welcome the new with open hearts and clear intentions.
For those of us walking the path of a lightworker, this is especially potent. But what, exactly, is a lightworker, you may ask? My idea of a lightworker is someone who does exactly what it sounds like. They incarnated to shine light, raise vibration, and help others remember the magnificence of who you were born to be. Lightworkers feel deeply, notice patterns others might miss, and sometimes just “know” things, often before anyone else does. Our gifts show up in big ways, like guiding, healing, or teaching and in small, quiet ways too, like the extra patience or smile we offer a stranger, or simple encouragement we give a friend who’s struggling. Simply put, being a lightworker isn’t about perfection it's about showing up, shining your light, and living in alignment with your soul.
Now, if you’re reading this and thinking, “Well, I don’t know if I’m a lightworker,” don’t worry. Being a lightworker is more about energy than a title, it resonates. A lightworker isn’t just a label, it’s an inner knowing, a frequency, a part of my soul’s mission. It’s a vibration I’ve carried for as long as I can remember. One example? Back when I was in the public school system, I started ‘Sunshine Committees’ to bring joy and light into my students’ days in the smallest ways. I've always been drawn to lift others’ spirits. If you’ve ever felt called to lift someone’s spirits, heal with your presence, bring joy to life no one else sees it, optimistic and sees the silver linings in the darkest moments of simply trusting your intuition, you’ve already got the spark. Honestly, the magical part: every time you honor that spark, you step more fully into your purpose and help create a ripple of goodness in the world. Lightwork is just the ripple!
Of course, being a lightworker isn’t always easy and it’s definitely not all unicorns and rainbows . Times when you are feeling too sensitive, overthinking, or picking up on the energy in a room more than anyone else can be downright exhausting. But here’s the truth: those sensitivities? They’re your superpower. It’s essential to stop dimming your light just to make others comfortable. because the world needs the real, radiant, authentic you to show up, with all your uniqueness, laughter, and joy.
So as we welcome and anchor in the energies of the new year, the year of the horse, think of it as a cosmic reset button or an invitation to align with your highest self, clarify your intentions, and intentionally shine for 2026!. I no longer make resolutions because they rarely stick and lose momentum. Instead, for the past 15 years, I’ve chosen a single word to guide my year. My word for 2025 was Awareness, and it shaped every decision, every reflection, and every intention I set. I look forward to the next word that will illuminate the path ahead. Have you thought about what your guiding word for 2026 might be? I invite you to take a moment, connect with your heart, and see which word wants to lead you into the new year.
Also, don’t forget to use this time as a wonderful opportunity for self-care, meditating for clarity, speaking your truth with love, or sending energy to someone in need. These are some ways to live as a lightworker every day.
Entering 2026, remember: your light matters. Your energy matters. And the small, consistent ways you choose to show up make a profound difference. This year, let yourself be playful, joyful, and aligned.
The flow of goodness is here, and it’s calling you to step in. Shine bright. Shine authentically. Shine unapologetically. Because when you do, you help others remember their light too!
This, my dear friend, is exactly why we’re here.
With love and joy,
Kristie
